LLAMAS: Latina/o & Latin American Matrix for Arts and Sciences—A Consortium Online Speaker Series

LLAMAS: Latina/o & Latin American Matrix for Arts and Sciences is a vital new e-learning initiative offered by consortium of three institutes across the country: The Ohio State University’s LASER, University of Georgia’s LACSI, and San Diego State University’s MALAS.

LLAMAS Consortium Online Speaker Series is a response to the massive growth in the demographic presence of Latinos in the U.S., Latinos are the largest minority in the U.S., numbering upwards of 51 million on the 2010 U.S. census plus 12 million undocumented.

Co-directed by the respective directors and distinguished processors of each center Frederick Luis Aldama (LASER), Richard Gordon (LACSI), and William Nericcio (MALAS), LLAMAS offers a venue for learning about today’s booming Latin/o Americans through our online speaker series. 

LLAMAS Consortium Online Speaker Series offers:

 · Access throughout the year to online learning opportunities with prominent scholars, authors, artists, and significant public figures.
 · Assessment of learning.
 · Certificate of completion.

 LLAMAS Consortium Online Speaker Series Aims: To offer the global community the possibility of deep learning about Latino and Latin American culture, history, politics, and all other areas. To prepare well-informed global citizens and better leaders for today and tomorrow To be informed and thus competitive in the global marketplace with changing demographics in the education, work, and public spheres.
